Our Story

Steve’s father and David’s grandfather, Carl Hawkins, started in this industry right after serving in the Army during World War II. Steve followed in his father’s footsteps and went to work with his father straight out of college and has been serving school systems throughout the state of Virginia ever since.

After graduating in 2001, David entered the industry and began learning the business relying on first-hand knowledge and tutelage from his father after growing up in the industry all of his life. In 2008, David decided to venture off on his own and start his own company at the age of 30. He knew he couldn’t do it alone, so he asked his father, Steve, to join him and thus CSE was born with the desire to not necessarily be the biggest company, but to be the best in the business when it comes to customer service.

Steve coined our motto “We strive to do a common job uncommonly well” and we live by that motto to this day.
